TMJ Day Appliances

Day Appliance (Aka MORA)

  • A mandibular repositioning orthotic, semi-anatomical.
  • Made with up to 8 ball clasps.
  • Material options: Acrylic

Full Coverage Day

  • A variation of a Day Appliance but with incisal coverage and no lingual bar.
  • Made with up to 8 ball clasps.
  • Material options: Acrylic or Milled

Compact Day

  • A variation of a Day Appliance but with no acrylic on lingual of anterior teeth.
  • Made with up to 8 ball clasps.
  • Material options: Acrylic

Thermoformed Day

  • A variation of a Day Appliance but made with a thermoformed material and no metal
  • Is a full coverage appliance
  • Material options: Thermoform

Hard Pivot Appliance

  • Designed to allow contact of the maxillary 1st molars. It’s purpose is to increase joint space, decompress the jaw joint and help increase mandibular range of motion.
  • Has no incisal coverage and a lingual bar.
  • Material options: Acrylic, Thermoform, Milled PMMA (Full coverage recommended)

Anti-Clenching Appliance

  • Similar to a deprogrammer but designed to be used during the day or night, it allows only contact of anterior teeth.
  • Upper palate with a small discluding element.
  • Material options: Acrylic, Thermoform

Anterior Deprogrammer

  • Designed with a discluding element to allow contact with lower anterior teeth and completely discludes the posterior teeth.
  • Full coverage appliance with a discluding element.
  • Material options: Acrylic, Thermoform, True Comfort, Milled PMMA

Farrar (Aka Deprogrammer with ramp)

  • Designed with a ramp the guides the mandible into a specific prescription as prescribed, it also has a discluding element to allow contact with lower anterior teeth and completely discludes the posterior teeth.
  • Full coverage appliance with discluding element and ramp.
  • Material options: Acrylic, Thermoform, True Comfort, Milled PMMA

Night with Ramp

  • Designed with a repositioning ramp that guides the jaw into the established position. Similar to a Farrar except with full occlusal contact.
  • Full coverage appliance with full occlusal contact and a ramp.
  • Material options: Acrylic, Thermoform, True Comfort, Milled PMMA

Flat Plane Splint (Aka Stabilizing Splint)

  • Designed as a day or night appliance. Is full converge with all opposing dentition in contact.
  • Full coverage appliance with full occlusal contact and no anterior guidance or cuspid rise.
  • Material options: Acrylic, Thermoform, True Comfort, Milled PMMA
